Blu-ray release: ‘Eureka’

Imprint Films will release the 2000 Japanese drama ‘Eureka’ (ユリイカ) on Limited Edition Blu-ray in Australia on June 24, 2026.

Written and directed by Shinji Aoyama, the film follows three survivors of a traumatic bus hijacking as they struggle to reconnect with the world and each other in the aftermath of violence and loss. The cast includes Koji Yakusho, Aoi Miyazaki, Masaru Miyazaki, Yoichiro Saito, and Sayuri Kokusho.

Synopsis: After surviving a deadly bus hijacking, bus driver Makoto and two orphaned siblings withdraw from society, unable to process the trauma that has reshaped their lives. Years later, the three begin travelling together across rural Kyushu in a battered bus, forming a fragile bond while searching for some sense of healing and direction. As they drift through isolated towns and empty landscapes, buried emotions and unresolved grief slowly begin to surface.
