Blu-ray release: 'Kikaider: Ultimate Human Machine'

Discotek Media will release the 2014 Japanese sci-fi tokusatsu film ‘Kikaider: Ultimate Human Machine’ (キカイダー REBOOT) on US Blu-ray on January 27, 2026.

Directed by Ten Shimoyama, the film follows an unfinished android who rebels against his creators while uncovering a conspiracy tied to his own origin. The cast includes Jingi Irie, Aimi Satsukawa, Kazushige Nagashima, Yuto Ikeda, and Ryuji Harada.

Synopsis: In the near future, the brilliant Dr. Komyoji is enlisted to lead the ARK Project, a scientific endeavor dedicated to forging a brighter tomorrow through robotics. However, the doctor’s mysterious death abruptly halts those plans. Not long after, the grieving Komyoji children find themselves targeted by a black-ops squad seeking their father’s research. From the ensuing crossfire emerges Jiro, a bleeding-edge android programmed to protect the siblings. Now on the run, the Komyojis soon discover their father’s once-hopeful ambitions have taken a dark turn.
