Blu-ray release: 'Over Your Dead Body'

88 Films are bringing the 2014 Japanese supernatural horror movie ‘Over Your Dead Body’ (喰女-クイメ-) to UK Blu-ray on December 15, 2025.

Directed by Takashi Miike, the film depicts a haunted stage production where blurred lines between acting and reality lead to jealousy, obsession, and ghostly terror. The cast includes Ebizo Ichikawa, Ko Shibasaki, Hideaki Ito, Miho Nakanishi, and Maiko.

Synopsis: Famous actress Miyuki Goto (Kō Shibasaki) uses her status to headline a stage adaptation of a ghost story and insists that her lover Kosuke Hasegawa (Ebizō Ichikawa XI) play opposite her, but as rehearsals intensify, rivalries, infidelity, and resentment among the cast begin to echo the tragedy they are performing, drawing Miyuki into a disturbing emotional unraveling where obsession, delusion, and the play’s violent themes seep dangerously into real life.
