88 Films will release the 2002 Japanese sports film ‘Ping Pong’ (ピンポン) on UK Blu-ray on June 22, 2026, followed by a US release on June 23.

Directed by Fumihiko Sori, the film follows a struggling table tennis prodigy who must rediscover his drive while navigating the complicated dynamic with his closest friend and facing increasingly formidable rivals. The cast includes Yosuke Kubozuka, Arata Iura, Sam Lee, Shido Nakamura, Koji Okura, and Naoto Takenaka.

Synopsis: Punkish ping pong prodigy Peco (Yosuke Kubozuka) is on a losing streak, not helped by his childhood friend Smile (Arata Iura), who intentionally lets him win in practice. As tournament day approaches, Peco must regain his edge to face formidable opponents such as China (Sam Lee), who has fallen off the Chinese national team and now finds himself in Japan, and Dragon (Shido Nakamura), their rival from Kaio Academy, who approaches the table with near-militaristic intensity.

‘Ping Pong’ is available for pre-order now from Amazon UK and Amazon US.
