Blu-ray release: ‘Pinocchio 964’

88 Films will release the 1991 Japanese cyberpunk horror film ‘Pinocchio 964’ (ピノキオ√964) on Blu-ray in the UK on May 11, 2026.

Written and directed by Shozin Fukui, the film follows a malfunctioning sex android who is abandoned on the streets and pursued by the corporation responsible for his creation. The cast includes Haji Suzuki, Onn-chan, Koji Otsubo, Kyoko Hara, and Rakumaro Sanyutei.

Synopsis: After malfunctioning during service, a sex android known as Pinocchio 964 is discarded by his owners and left wandering the streets with his memory erased. Rescued by a homeless woman named Himiko, he attempts to adapt to life outside captivity while the corporation behind his creation moves to eliminate him.
