Blu-ray release: 'Ten Women in Black'

Radiance Films will release the 1961 Japanese dark comedy ‘Ten Women in Black’ (黒い十人の女 / Ten Dark Women) on Limited Edition Blu-ray in the UK on August 17, 2026.

Directed by Kon Ichikawa, the film follows the wife and nine mistresses of a successful television executive as they become entangled in a spiralling plot to murder him. The cast includes Fujiko Yamamoto, Eiji Funakoshi, Mariko Miyagi, Tamao Nakamura, Kyoko Kishida, and Juzo Itami.

Synopsis: A powerful television executive maintains relationships with nine mistresses while remaining married, creating a volatile web of resentment, jealousy, and deception. When the women begin discussing how to rid themselves of him for good, what starts as a fantasy of revenge gradually spirals into chaos. As loyalties shift and emotions flare, the plan grows increasingly unpredictable, exposing the fragile power dynamics at the centre of their relationships.
