‘Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island’ (映画ちいかわ人魚の島のひみつ) is a 2026 Japanese animated adventure directed by Kei Oikawa.

Based on the manga by Nagano, the film sees Chiikawa and his friends journey to a mysterious island where their seaside getaway turns into sudden danger. The voice cast includes Haruka Aoki, Makoto Tanaka, Airi Ozawa, Yuichi Nakamura, and Sumire Uesaka.

Synopsis: Enticed by rumours of a glittering island filled with rare treats and easy rewards, Chiikawa and his friends set off for the island, only to find their trip quickly taking an unexpected turn. Beneath the island’s sparkling waters lies a quiet mystery involving a mermaid presence and unexplained rules.
