Theatrical release: ‘The Last Blossom’

Anime Limited will release the 2025 Japanese animated drama ‘The Last Blossom’ (ホウセンカ) in UK and Irish cinemas on March 27, 2026.
Directed by Baku Kinoshita, the film follows a fading former outlaw whose dreamlike reflections uncover the relationships and decisions that shaped his final years. The voice cast includes Kaoru Kobayashi, Hikari Mitsushima, Yoshiko Miyazaki, Junki Tozuka, and Pierre Taki.
Synopsis: An elderly prisoner nearing death reflects on his past through strange conversations with a talking balsam flower, revisiting a fleeting seaside summer when a struggling yakuza found unexpected family and happiness with a young woman and her child. As desperation once pushed him toward a dangerous decision, the memories he revisits reveal a life shaped by love, regret, and the choices that led him to his lonely present.
