‘90 Meters’ (90メートル) is a 2026 Japanese coming-of-age drama written and directed by Shun Nakagawa.
The film portrays a teenager forced to choose between his future and his duty at home as his mother’s condition steadily worsens. The cast includes Soma Santoki, Miho Kanno, Nanase Nishino, Kotona Minami, and Taketo Tanaka.
Synopsis: Yu, a high school senior raised by a single mother, has devoted himself to basketball since childhood, but when his mother, Misaki, is diagnosed with a serious illness, he gives up the sport to care for her. Managing household responsibilities and caring for her with limited support, he continues to dream of attending university in Tokyo, yet struggles with the thought of leaving her behind. As her health declines and the future grows more uncertain, Yu finds himself torn between his own aspirations and the responsibility to stay by her side. [© Far East Films]
