‘A Wishy Washy Man’ (관념의 남자 김철수) is a 2026 South Korean comedy-drama written and directed by Cha Si-Yun and Lee Jae-Ri.
The film follows a rule-bound teacher who, after a failed proposal, sets out to reinvent himself in hopes of winning back the woman he loves. The cast includes Cha Si-Yun, Lee Jae-Ri, Lee San-Ha, Kim Yong-Jae, and Park Jang-Myun.
Synopsis: Cheol-su, an elementary school teacher who has always lived by the book and made only the “right” choices, proposes to his colleague and girlfriend Se-mi, only for her to leave for Santiago with an uncertain response. Determined to reunite with her, he searches for a way forward and eventually meets a psychiatrist who tells him that only a drastic change will make it possible. Taking this advice to heart, Cheol-su heads to a satellite city in an attempt to reinvent himself, where he unexpectedly crosses paths with his childhood friend Young-hee, forcing him to confront who he really is.
