‘Being Towards Death’ (10间敢死队) is a 2026 Chinese comedy-drama co-written and directed by Chen Sicheng.
The film centres on a man who, after a failed suicide attempt, begins to rediscover a reason to live through his encounters with a group of patients determined to keep going. The cast includes Jiang Long, Qi Xi, Yang Chaoyue, Wang Zichuan, Zhang Chi, Cao Bingkun, Huang Yi, Ye Quanxi, Ni Dahong, and Cai Ming.
Synopsis: At the end of a hospital corridor, Room 10 stands apart—home to seriously ill patients, yet filled each day with laughter and warmth. Zhang Xiaobing, having just survived a suicide attempt, finds himself drawn into the lives of those around him, a group of people determined to keep living. Surrounded by their resilience and unfiltered vitality, he begins to see life differently, finding a renewed sense of purpose and the courage to embrace each moment.
‘Being Towards Death’ is scheduled for release in China on May 1, 2026.
