‘Blue Lock’ (ブルーロック) is a 2026 Japanese sports drama directed by Yusuke Taki.
Based on the bestselling manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura, the film follows an ambitious programme that gathers 300 of Japan’s most promising high school strikers to compete for the chance to become the country’s ultimate forward. The cast includes Fumiya Takahashi, Kaito Sakurai, Kyohei Takahashi, Kota Nomura, K (&TEAM), Keito Tsuna, Masataka Kubota, and Mei Hata.
Synopsis: In an effort to solve Japan’s long-standing lack of goals, the national football team launches the secretive ‘Blue Lock’ project, gathering 300 high school strikers to compete in a ruthless series of trials. Only one player will emerge as the world’s greatest striker, while everyone else will lose the right to represent Japan forever. Determined to fulfil his dream of leading Japan to World Cup glory, the little-known Yoichi Isagi enters the competition, relying on his exceptional spatial awareness and unwavering desire to score as he fights to survive.
