‘BURN’ (炎上) is a 2026 Japanese drama written and directed by Makoto Nagahisa.
The film depicts a teenage runaway adjusting to life in Kabukicho as new experiences and relationships begin to shape her identity. The cast includes Nana Mori, Aoi Yamada, Ryosuke Sota, Kanji Furutachi, and Nao Matsuzaki.
Synopsis: Raised in a strict household shaped by cult beliefs, a teenage girl grows up under relentless control alongside her younger sister, hoping for a way out. Years later, after their father’s death changes little, she runs away to Kabukicho, where she is taken in by a group of young people and begins to experience independence for the first time. As she forms new connections, she starts to imagine a life beyond the one she left behind. [© Far East Films]
