‘Demon Agent’ (大唐妖探) is a 2026 Chinese animated comedy mystery co-written and directed by Cheng Teng.

Set in a fantastical version of Tang dynasty Chang’an where humans and demons live side by side, the film follows an unlikely detective duo as they investigate a bizarre murder that threatens the city’s fragile harmony. The voice cast includes Lei Songran, Zhang Cheng, Cai Haiting, Zhang Zhe, Wang Kai, and Fan Zhechen.

Synopsis: Gifted but sharp-tongued aspiring detective Di Shao dreams of becoming Chang’an’s greatest investigator, while rookie wolf-demon constable Asa is as kind-hearted as he is inexperienced. Forced together by a mysterious murder case, the mismatched pair embark on a chaotic investigation that leads them through the city’s extraordinary streets and ever closer to a conspiracy hidden at the heart of Chang’an.
