‘Fujiko’ is a 2026 Japanese drama directed by Taichi Kimura.
The film tells the story of a woman who fights to reclaim her daughter and build a life as a single mother in 1970s and 1980s Japan. The cast includes Yuki Katayama, YOU, Lily Franky, Tsuyoshi Ujiki, Keiko Takeshita, Issey Ogata, and Kayoko Kishimoto.
Synopsis: Set in Shizuoka from the late 1970s onwards, a young woman’s life is transformed after the birth of her daughter. After enduring relentless mistreatment from her husband’s family and being separated from her child, she fights to bring her daughter home and defies those around her by choosing to raise her alone. As she struggles to build a future for them both, the path ahead proves far more turbulent than she ever imagined, carrying her through the upheavals and challenges of a rapidly changing era.
