‘I Want to Meet You Again on the Hill Where That Star Falls’ (あの星が降る丘で、君とまた出会いたい。) is a 2026 Japanese romantic drama directed by Toshihiko Shinjo.
Based on the bestselling novel by Natsue Shiomi, the film is a sequel to the 2023 hit ‘Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight’ and follows Yuri as she struggles to move forward following the loss of her beloved Akira. The cast includes Haruka Fukuhara, Keita Hosoda, Natsuki Deguchi, Kentaro Ito, Chieko Baisho, Toyoshima Hana, Takumi Inoue, Tomoko Nakajima, Shingo Mizusawa, Isao Kobayashi, and Keiko Matsuzaka.
Synopsis: Seven years after parting with Akira, Yuri has fulfilled her dream of becoming a high school teacher, but her heart remains in 1945, where they first met. Her quiet routine is disrupted by Ryo, a young man who bears an uncanny resemblance to Akira and joins her school as a temporary teacher. Although drawn to his sincerity, Yuri cannot bring herself to embrace a new love. As she wrestles with her feelings, an encounter with an elderly woman living out her final days in a hospice reveals another story of love and loss, culminating in a book Akira left behind for the Yuri of the future.
