‘Indian Summer’ (小春日和) is a 2026 Japanese family drama written and directed by Yurugu Matsumoto.
The film follows a young woman whose work at a hospital leads her toward unexpected connections and a renewed sense of purpose. The cast includes Misaki Mizumura, Yura Chihara, Takako Masuda, Ippei Yamaoka, and Shuhei Uesugi.
Synopsis: Koharu Sakaguchi carries a private burden that leaves her feeling isolated and unsure of where she belongs. After leaving home following an argument with her father, she begins working as a nursing assistant at a hospital. There she meets patients and families confronting illness in their own ways, including a lively group of women living with cancer and a patient preparing to spend her remaining days at home. Through these encounters, Koharu gradually begins to reflect on her own life and find the strength to face the future. [© Far East Films]
