‘It Will Soon Be Time to Say Goodbye’ (ほどなく、お別れです) is a 2026 Japanese drama directed by Takahiro Miki.
Based on the novel by Amane Nagatsuki, the film follows a young woman whose work at a funeral home transforms her understanding of loss, purpose, and moving forward. The cast includes Minami Hamabe, Ren Meguro, Nozomi Morita, Kosuke Suzuki, and Hiromi Nagasaku.
Synopsis: A directionless young woman begins an unexpected internship at a funeral home, where she works under a reserved and exacting professional who believes that a proper farewell lies in restraint rather than emotion. As she helps families honour lives distilled into a single final ceremony, she discovers that saying goodbye is less about endings than about allowing the living to move forward.
