‘Mononoke the Movie: Chapter III – The Curse of the Serpent’ (劇場版モノノ怪第三章蛇神) is a 2026 Japanese animated supernatural psychological horror directed by Tomoaki Koshida.

The film continues the story of the Medicine Seller as he confronts a deadly new mononoke within the Ōoku while long-buried secrets threaten to unravel everything inside its walls. The voice cast includes Hiroshi Kamiya, Atsumi Tanezaki, Miyu Irino, Kenjiro Tsuda, and Yoshiko Sakakibara.

Synopsis: After earlier battles, the Medicine Seller senses that something within the Ōoku remains unresolved despite the return of peace. When the Emperor’s wife Sachiko loses her newborn son, grief and unrest begin to spread through the inner chambers.
