‘Moon Dog’ (月の犬) is a 2026 Japanese crime drama written and directed by Kenji Yokoi.

The film focuses on a drifting ex-gangster whose encounter with a woman and a troubled boy draws him into a tense situation that threatens to upend the fragile lives around them. The cast includes Masato Hagiwara, Soraji Shibuya, Kao Ishida, Shoya Okiyama, and Akira Otaka.

Synopsis: A former yakuza, Tojima, leaves his past behind after the death of his wife and drifts into a new town, where he meets Saori, a woman who draws him into her world through small jobs. Meanwhile, Minami, a disillusioned member of a criminal organisation, becomes intrigued by Tojima and entrusts him with the care of a boy named Shogo. When Tojima uncovers a hidden truth about the child, he defies orders and takes him away, setting off a chain of events that disrupts the fragile balance between them. [© Far East Films]
