‘Nagashino’ (長篠) is a 2026 Japanese historical war drama written and directed by Genba Miyashita.
The film portrays the Takeda clan on the eve of Nagashino, as its leaders are divided over whether to commit to battle or attempt to withdraw. The cast includes Kyoko Yohara, Kenji Kaneko, Yohei Isshiki, SHIGETORA, and Ryo Ikeda.
Synopsis: In May 1575, as the Takeda forces confront the advancing Oda–Tokugawa alliance at Nagashino, divisions arise within their ranks over whether to fight or withdraw against overwhelming odds. While Takeda Katsuyori resolves to press on in order to uphold the clan’s honour, senior retainers quietly consider how to avoid a disastrous battle. The arrival of Akiyama Torashige and his wife Otsuya, bearing a secret plan, further complicates the situation, as opposing loyalties drive the camp toward a fateful decision. [© Far East Films]
