‘Now I Met Her’ (我的妈耶) is a 2026 Chinese comedy-drama co-written and directed by Xiao Luxi.
The film tells the story of a teenager who discovers his late mother’s diary and, through its pages, begins to understand the person she once was. The cast includes Huang Minghao, Ma Sichun, Bai Ke, Liang Jingkang, and Ji Jiahe.
Synopsis: Raised by his father after his mother Dong Yu died when he was born, eighteen-year-old Shiyi has always known her only as an absence. On his eighteenth birthday, he unexpectedly discovers her diary and, driven by curiosity, begins reading. Through its pages he follows the story of her youth, meeting the friends, first love and future husband who shaped her life, and gradually uncovers the friendships, dreams and relationships that filled her short but bright existence. As he pieces together the person she once was, Shiyi finally comes to understand the depth of the love she had for him from the very beginning. [© Far East Films]
