‘Out of the Past’ (怪屋) is a 2026 Chinese mystery horror written and directed by Berlarin Wang.
The film follows a professional haunted-house tester who spends the night in a villa where a murder once took place, only to encounter a series of increasingly disturbing phenomena. The cast includes Fu Jing, Christie, Su Jinyuan, Zhang Yuening, and Kira Wang.
Synopsis: Wu Shuang makes a living testing supposedly haunted properties and agrees to spend a rainy night in a foreclosed villa where a murder once occurred. There she encounters Nian Lun, an inexperienced blogger who has also come to investigate the house. As strange noises echo through the night, unexplained bloodstains appear on the walls and the rooms seem to shift around them, the pair begin searching for the truth behind the disturbances and the secrets hidden within the house.
