‘Poupelle of Chimney Town: The Promised Clock Tower’ (映画 えんとつ町のプペル 〜約束の時計台〜) is a 2026 Japanese animated fantasy adventure directed by Yusuke Hirota.
Based on Akihiro Nishino’s ‘Tick-Tock: The Promised Clock Tower’ and a sequel to ‘Poupelle of Chimney Town’ (2020), the film follows a boy drawn into a world where time has stopped as he searches for a way back to someone he lost. The voice cast includes Yuzuna Nagase, Masataka Kubota, Megumi, Fuka Koshiba, and Mitsuo Yoshihara.
Synopsis: One year after a miraculous night transformed Chimney Town, young Lubicchi struggles to move on from the loss of his dear friend Poupelle, eventually abandoning hope of seeing him again. His life changes when he wanders into a mysterious realm where time is controlled and anything that no longer ticks is cast aside, yet a strange clock tower remains frozen at 11:59 despite being unbroken. Tasked with setting it in motion in order to return home, Lubicchi meets a man who has spent a century waiting for a promise to be fulfilled, and through this encounter begins to rediscover the courage to believe once more.
