‘SAI: Disaster’ (災 劇場版) is a 2026 Japanese psychological suspense thriller directed by Tomotaro Seki and Kentaro Hirase (collectively known as May).
The film is a theatrical reconstruction of the WOWOW drama ‘SAI’, following a mysterious man whose shifting identities connect a series of encounters that lead to sudden calamities in ordinary lives. The cast includes Teruyuki Kagawa, Anne Nakamura, Pistol Takehara, Sena Nakajima, and Ryuhei Matsuda.
Synopsis: An enigmatic man drifts through the lives of strangers, appearing in different guises as seemingly mundane encounters take on a growing sense of dread, gradually revealing an unseen pattern in which quiet moments of connection give way to abrupt, unsettling calamities that blur coincidence, fate, and manipulation.
