‘The Breakthrough’ (极限逃生) is a 2026 Chinese disaster action comedy written and directed by Yang Xiaoming.

The film tells the story of three romantic rivals forced to flee a sudden disaster together after a workplace reunion descends into chaos. The cast includes Wu Yuhan, Xu Lu, Zhang Haiyu, Yang Yiwei, Fang Yuanyuan, and Du Xiaoyu.

Synopsis: Wu Cheng, an underachiever drifting through life, unexpectedly reunites with Lin Shengnan, the woman he has never been able to forget, at his company’s annual party. Just as he attempts to reconnect with her, their awkward reunion is interrupted by a wealthy romantic rival, only for the three of them to be thrown into chaos when a sudden toxic gas leak erupts around them.
