Trailer: 'The Caged Butterfly'

‘The Caged Butterfly’ (蝴蝶楼·惊魂) is a 2026 Chinese horror thriller co-written and directed by Hao Han.

The film, a sequel to ‘The Haunting of Yuanyang Tower’ (2024), centres on a group trapped in a cursed mansion where hidden agendas and supernatural forces collide. The cast includes Li Meng, Liu Siwei, Jiang Zhuojun, Zhou Tie, and Wang Ning.

Synopsis: Known as the Butterfly Mansion, the Lu family villa is a notorious haunted house where therapist Li Han and the scheming Awei take up residence, each hiding their own motives. Soon, a series of disturbing events unfolds, from ghostly figures wandering the halls to terrifying apparitions that defy explanation. As greed begins to consume Awei and Li Han is plagued by relentless nightmares, long-buried secrets tied to a powerful family come to light, drawing them into a deadly trap within the mansion.
