‘The Old Dog’ (老江湖) is a 2026 Chinese crime action comedy directed by Liu Yu and Li Taige.
The film follows a veteran police officer approaching retirement who uncovers something suspicious while investigating an apparently routine theft. The cast includes Yu Qian, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Wang Yinglu, Duan Bowen, and Zhao Xiaotang.
Synopsis: With retirement approaching, police officer Jing Youzheng notices something unusual while investigating a seemingly ordinary theft. As he digs deeper, the case begins to connect a murder, a substantial debt and a financial scheme, with the evidence increasingly pointing towards Bian Juhan, chairman of the Mingdian Group. Refusing to abandon the investigation, Jing continues to pursue the truth, prompting Bian to fight back as the two seasoned adversaries become locked in an escalating battle of wits.
