Trailer: ‘The Ribbon Hero’

‘The Ribbon Hero’ (THE RIBBON HERO リボンヒーロー) is a 2026 Japanese animated fantasy adventure written and directed by Yuki Igarashi.

Inspired by Osamu Tezuka’s classic manga ‘Princess Knight’, the film follows a young princess who takes up her sword after the destructive force that devastated her homeland threatens to strike again. The voice cast includes Saya, Seiran Kobayashi, Koki Uchiyama, Mayumi Shintani, and Banjou Ginga.

Synopsis: Princess Sapphire of Silverland loses her homeland to a devastating force known as Nergal and, overcome by despair, eventually finds refuge in the neighbouring kingdom of Goldland. As the kindness of its people gradually gives her hope for a new life, Nergal suddenly reappears and threatens to destroy her new home as well. Refusing to suffer the same loss again, Sapphire puts aside her grief, takes up her sword and resolves to fight against the fate that has pursued her. [© Far East Films]

‘The Ribbon Hero’ is available to stream on Netflix now and will receive a limited theatrical release in Japan from September 4, 2026.
