‘West by Northwest’ (北回归线以北) is a 2026 Chinese drama written and directed by Zhao Hantang.
The film follows three groups of travellers whose journeys force them to confront unfinished business from their pasts. The cast includes Simon Yam, Wang Ji, Zhao Hantang, Jiang Yiyan, Zhu Hongjia, Sonam Wangmo, Li Yimeng, and Liu Jieyi.
Synopsis: Three groups of travellers set out on separate motorhome journeys, each carrying their own regrets and ambitions. A struggling photographer heads to the Tibetan Plateau in search of snow leopards, a family embarks on a trip to fulfil their son’s graduation wish, and a recently retired hospital director travels west to pursue a dream she has held since her youth. As their journeys unfold through a series of unexpected encounters, each is forced to confront the choices of the past and reconsider the path ahead. [© Far East Films]
