‘Yamaguchi-kun Isn’t So Bad’ (山口くんはワルくない) is a 2026 Japanese romantic comedy directed by Kentaro Moriya.
Based on the manga by Yuu Saiki, the film centres on a high-school girl who finds herself drawn to a misunderstood transfer student after uncovering the kind-hearted person behind his tough exterior. The cast includes Hikaru Takahashi, Kyohei Takahashi, Yoji Iwase, Ayane Uehara, Rina Uesaka, and Akika Otsuka.
Synopsis: A daydreaming high-school girl who longs for romance becomes intrigued by a tough-looking transfer student whose intimidating appearance keeps most of their classmates at a distance. As she gradually discovers the shy and kind-hearted person beneath his fearsome exterior, she finds herself drawn closer to him and begins to see a side of him that no one else knows. But when a popular classmate unexpectedly confesses his feelings, she is swept into an increasingly complicated relationship that forces all three teenagers to confront emotions they can no longer ignore.
