‘Cloud’ (クラウド) is a 2024 Japanese suspense thriller written and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa.
The film follows a reseller who begins to experience a series of suspicious events, causing his everyday life to be destroyed. The cast includes Masaki Suda, Kotone Furukawa, Daiken Okudaira, Amane Okayama, YosiYosi Arakawa, and Masataka Kubota.
Synopsis: Yoshii Ryosuke earns his money as a reseller while working at a local factory. He does not take up the profitable offer from Muraoka, a senior student at a technical college who taught him about reselling, but continues to resell steadily. One day, Yoshii is approached by Takimoto, the president of the factory where he works, about a promotion to a managerial position, but he refuses and decides to resign. He rents an office and home by a lake in the suburbs and starts a new life with his girlfriend Akiko. He hires a local young man, Sano, and the resale business begins to take off, but just then, a series of suspicious events begin to occur around Yoshii. The seeds of hatred that Yoshii unknowingly scatters grow rapidly, sucking in the darkness of internet society, and escalate into a blackened collective madness. Yoshii’s daily life is rapidly destroyed as he becomes the target of a ‘hunting game’ by an unknown group. [© Far East Films]
