‘Immersion’ (忌怪島/きかいじま) is a 2023 Japanese horror movie directed by Takashi Shimizu.

The film revolves around a group of mysterious deaths that befall the employees of a VR-tech company after they travel to work on a secret island project. The cast includes Daigo Nishihata, Rina Ikoma, Yuta Hiraoka, Atomu Mizuishi, Noa Kawazoe, and Ayumi Ito.

Synopsis: Genius brain scientist Tomohiko Kataoka (Daigo Nishihata) is asked by the Synthekai VR research team chief (Ayumi Ito) to join them on Abominable Island. There they have created a virtual space for the entire island, and they want Tomohiko to use his advanced techniques to enhance the project. However, when Tomohiko puts on the VR goggles and enters the virtual world, it suddenly becomes dark and an unidentifiable woman appears… [© Far East Films]
