‘WHY, IF’ (와이프) is a 2026 South Korean thriller directed by Lee Soo-Sung.
The film follows a novelist who becomes increasingly suspicious of his wife after the couple move to a quiet rural village. The cast includes Ryu Tae-Joon, Yeom Seung-Yi, and Park Hyung-Geun.
Synopsis: Novelist Ji-Man travels to a quiet rural village with his wife Soo-Young, a university professor, to work on a new book. When he begins noticing suspicious clues surrounding her, his doubts develop into an increasingly dangerous obsession. Following a tragic incident, the wife he believed to be dead suddenly reappears, causing the reality he thought he knew to begin falling apart. [© Far East Films]
