Blu-ray release: ‘Kamen Rider Super-1’

Discotek Media will release the 1980 Japanese tokusatsu series ‘Kamen Rider Super-1’ (仮面ライダースーパー1) on Blu-ray in the US on October 27, 2026.

Created by Shotaro Ishinomori, the 48-episode series follows an astronaut who undergoes cybernetic surgery as part of a programme designed to allow humans to survive in space. The cast includes Shunsuke Takasugi, Nobuo Tsukamoto, Teruaki Sato, Munemaru Koda, and Shinji Nakae.

Synopsis: Kazuya Oki volunteers to become a cyborg capable of surviving unaided in space, but his plans are shattered when the Dogma Kingdom attacks the research facility responsible for his transformation. Returning to Japan as the only survivor, Kazuya trains to master his new abilities and becomes Kamen Rider Super-1, using his powers to fight Dogma and its plans for domination.
