4K UHD & Blu-ray release: ‘Blades of the Guardians’

Trinity CineAsia will release the 2026 Chinese wuxia action film ‘Blades of the Guardians’ (镖人：风起大漠) on 4K UHD + Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray in the UK on October 19, 2026.

Directed by Yuen Woo-Ping and adapted from the manhua by Xu Xianzhe, the film follows a bounty hunter who is hired to escort a mysterious man to Chang’an, only to discover that his passenger is one of the empire’s most wanted fugitives. The cast includes Wu Jing, Nicholas Tse, Yu Shi, Chen Lijun, Sun Yizhou, Ci Sha, Li Yunxiao, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Max Zhang Jin, Kara Hui, and Jet Li.

Synopsis: Set during the Sui Dynasty, bounty hunter Dao Ma accepts a job escorting a man across the desert to the city of Chang’an. He soon discovers that his passenger is Zhishilang, one of the empire’s most wanted men, placing a huge bounty on their heads and drawing the attention of rival factions determined to claim the reward.
