Blu-ray release: ‘An Amorous Woman of Tang Dynasty’ & ‘The Reincarnation of Golden Lotus’

Imprint Films will release ‘An Amorous Woman of Tang Dynasty’ (唐朝豪放女) and ‘The Reincarnation of Golden Lotus’ (潘金蓮之前世今生) on Limited Edition Blu-ray Hardbox in Australia on June 10, 2026.
Featuring films directed by long-time collaborators Eddie Fong and Clara Law, the collection brings together a pair of visually ambitious Hong Kong dramas that explore female desire, social expectations, and personal freedom. The cast across both films includes Pat Ha, Alex Man, Chang Kuo-Chu, Joey Wong, Wilson Lam, Pal Sinn, and Eric Tsang.
An Amorous Woman of Tang Dynasty (1984): Yu Xuanji, a gifted poet living during the Tang Dynasty, rejects the restrictions imposed on women and becomes a Taoist priestess in order to pursue a life of learning and independence. As she embarks on a series of romantic relationships that defy social convention, her determination to live on her own terms brings both passion and tragedy.
The Reincarnation of Golden Lotus (1989): A young woman trapped by exploitation and social expectations begins to recall memories of a previous life. Realising that history may be repeating itself, she struggles to break free from a cycle of suffering that has followed her across generations.
