‘Traces of Justice’ (神探之痕迹) is a 2026 Chinese crime drama directed by Chen Sicheng.
Based on real cases and inspired by the career of forensic trace expert Cui Daozhi, the film follows a technician as he spends decades using physical evidence to investigate a series of major crimes. The cast includes Zhang Yi, Ma Li, Chen Minghao, Karry Wang, Fan Chengcheng, and Arthur Chen.
Synopsis: Beginning in the 1970s, technician Cui Xun works alongside forensic pathologist Huang Rende and detective Wang Weiguo to investigate a succession of serious crimes. With forensic technology still in its infancy, Cui relies on evidence including bite marks, fragments and other physical traces to identify suspects, gradually becoming a leading expert as investigative techniques develop over the following decades.
‘Traces of Justice’ is scheduled for release in China on October 1, 2026.
