Blu-ray release: 'Reap the Whirlwind: Four Films with Angela Mao'

Eureka Entertainment will release ‘Reap the Whirlwind: Four Films with Angela Mao’ on Limited Edition Blu-ray in the UK on August 24, 2026.

Featuring four films directed by Wong Fung, the collection highlights his long-running collaboration with Angela Mao, one of the most influential action stars of 1970s Hong Kong cinema. The cast across the collection includes Angela Mao, Kao Yuen, Pai Ying, George Lazenby, Betty Ting Pei, Carter Wong, Hwang In-Shik, Chan Sing, and Tan Tao-Liang.

The Angry River (1971):
While searching for a rare medicine to save her wounded father, a young swordswoman finds herself caught in a struggle against the ruthless Lunar Sect. Returning home to tragedy, she sets out on a path of vengeance that leads to a final confrontation with the organisation’s powerful leader.

Stoner (1974):
A tough Australian police officer travels to Hong Kong to uncover the source of a deadly new drug that claimed his sister’s life. There he joins forces with a secret agent investigating the same criminal network, drawing them both into a dangerous battle against an international trafficking operation.

The Tournament (1974):
A respected kung fu master’s reputation is destroyed when one of his students suffers a humiliating defeat at a martial arts tournament in Thailand. Driven by the desire to restore her family’s honour, his daughter enters the same competition to clear her father’s name.

The Himalayan (1976):
The daughter of a powerful martial arts leader becomes the focus of her father’s efforts to find her a suitable husband as he grows older. When fighters from across the region gather for an annual tournament on the Tibetan Plateau, the event draws her into a world of competing ambitions and martial arts rivalries.
