Blu-ray release: ‘The Inugami Family’

Radiance Films will release the 1976 Japanese mystery thriller ‘The Inugami Family’ (犬神家の一族) on Limited Edition Blu-ray in the UK on September 22, 2026.

Directed by Kon Ichikawa and based on the novel by Seishi Yokomizo, the film follows a detective as he investigates a series of murders linked to a wealthy family’s inheritance dispute. The cast includes Koji Ishizaka, Yoko Shimada, Teruhiko Aoi, Mieko Takamine, and Rentaro Mikuni.

Synopsis: When the wealthy patriarch of the Inugami family dies, his controversial will leaves the family’s fortune to Tamayo Nonomiya, a young woman from outside the bloodline. The inheritance comes with one condition: she must marry one of his grandsons. As tensions rise among the competing heirs and a series of grisly murders begins to unfold, detective Kosuke Kindaichi is called in to investigate, uncovering long-buried secrets hidden within the family’s troubled history.
