Blu-ray release: ‘The Owl vs Bumbo’

88 Films will release the 1984 Hong Kong action comedy ‘The Owl vs Bumbo’ (The Owl vs Bombo / 貓頭鷹與小飛象) on Blu-ray in the UK on October 26, 2026.
Directed by Sammo Hung, the film follows two former criminals who are forced back into action after a disgraced ex-policeman blackmails them into teaching at a reform school. The cast includes Sammo Hung, George Lam, Michelle Yeoh, Deanie Ip, and Stanley Fung
Synopsis: Chan (Sammo Hung) and Wong (George Lam) AKA Bumbo and The Owl, believe their criminal days are behind them. However, their pasts come back to haunt them when ex-cop Chung returns to blackmail them. At his behest, the pair find themselves teaching at a reform school. But how long can their earlier criminal lives stay in the past.
