Theatrical release: 'Dear You'

Trinity CineAsia will release the 2026 Chinese family drama ‘Dear You’ (给阿嬷的情书) in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on June 26, 2026.

Co-written and directed by Lan Hongchun, the film follows a debt-ridden young man whose search for his long-lost grandfather uncovers a decades-old family mystery spanning generations and borders. The cast includes Li Sitong, Wang Yantong, Wu Shaoqing, Zheng Runqi, and Wang Xiaohui.

Synopsis: Grandma Shurou has spent years believing she was exchanging letters with her husband Musheng, who left for Southeast Asia during the war and never returned. Hoping to find his rumoured millionaire grandfather, her debt-ridden grandson Xiaowei travels to Thailand, only to discover that Musheng died many years earlier and that the letters were written by a complete stranger. As Xiaowei investigates further, a misunderstanding spanning three generations begins to unravel, revealing a truth that binds two families across borders and time.
