Theatrical release: ‘Kiki's Delivery Service’

GKIDS will release the 1989 Japanese animated fantasy ‘Kiki’s Delivery Service’ (魔女の宅急便) in IMAX cinemas across the UK and Ireland on August 21, 2026, ahead of a wider 4K theatrical release on August 28.

Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the film follows a young witch who sets out on a year of independent training before starting a flying delivery service in a seaside town. The voice cast includes Minami Takayama, Rei Sakuma, Kappei Yamaguchi, Haruko Kato, and Keiko Toda.

Synopsis: It is a tradition for all young witches to leave their families on the night of a full moon and fly off into the wide world to learn their craft. When that night comes for Kiki, she embarks on her new journey with her sarcastic black cat, Jiji, landing the next morning in a seaside town, where her unique skill makes her an instant sensation.
