‘Karlovy Vary’ (카를로비바리) is a 2025 South Korean comedy-drama directed by Lee Yong-Seok.
The film follows an aspiring director and his crew who are forced to find an unconventional way to complete their film after the money for an overseas shoot suddenly disappears. The cast includes Lee Je-Yeon, Oh Ji-Ho, Shin Jee-Won, Kang Hee-Man, and Lee Myung-Hoon.
Synopsis: Aspiring director Sung-Jae secures funding to make a romantic film set in the Czech city of Karlovy Vary. With the Korean scenes completed and the crew preparing to travel overseas, the production is thrown into chaos when all of their remaining money disappears. Unable to afford the trip but determined to finish the film, Sung-Jae and his team attempt to recreate Karlovy Vary in Korea and complete the production without a budget. [© Far East Films]
