‘Kingdom 5: The Battle of Souls’ (キングダム 魂の決戦) is a 2026 Japanese historical fantasy action-adventure film directed by Shinsuke Sato.
The fifth instalment in the live-action ‘Kingdom’ series, the film adapts the Coalition Invasion arc from Yasuhisa Hara’s manga, as the Qin kingdom faces an unprecedented attack from a vast alliance of rival states. The cast includes Kento Yamazaki, Ryo Yoshizawa, Kanna Hashimoto, Nana Seino, Takao Osawa, Jun Shison, Kento Sakaguchi, and Shun Oguri.
Synopsis: Three years after the Battle of Bayou, where Qin lost the legendary general Ouki, Shin has risen to the rank of thousand-man commander while carrying on his fallen mentor’s legacy. When Zhao strategist Li Mu brings together the other six states in a coalition against Qin, a 500,000-strong army launches an invasion that pushes Qin to the brink of destruction. Shin joins fellow young commanders Mou Ten and Ou Hon in defending Kankoku Pass, where Qin’s leading generals assemble to confront the invading forces. [© Far East Films]
