‘Master Zhong’ (钟馗) is a 2026 Chinese animated fantasy adventure directed by Wang Yuxi and Huang Shanchuan.

The film follows a young girl who enters the underworld after being rescued by a demon hunter and becomes caught up in a battle that threatens both the human and spirit worlds. The voice cast includes Duan Yixuan, Yu Haowei, Hu Liangwei, Zhao Chengchen, Ba He, and Hu Zhengjian.

Synopsis: In secret, Zhong Kui has spent generations protecting the fragile balance between the human and spirit worlds. During one of his hunts, he rescues a young girl named Chujiu and brings her to the underworld to recover, where she encounters a group of unusual companions. Inspired by Zhong Kui’s devotion to protecting others, Chujiu becomes determined to become his apprentice, and as they begin working together to hunt demons, their bond deepens. But as a powerful new threat emerges, both the mortal world and the underworld are thrown into danger. [© Far East Films]
