‘My Name’ (내 이름은) is a 2026 South Korean drama directed by Chung Ji-Young.

The film explores how a boy’s struggle with identity and belonging becomes entangled with his mother’s buried past, as long-suppressed memories resurface with lasting consequences. The cast includes Yum Hye-Ran, Yu Jun-Sang, Oh Ji-Ho, Kim Gyu-Ri, and Choi Jun-Woo.

Synopsis: In the spring of 2026, a boy named Young-ok—embarrassed by his old-fashioned name and eager to change it—finds his life shifting when a transfer student from Seoul takes an interest in him, raising his status at school while drawing him into a dynamic that leaves him complicit in classroom violence. At the same time, his mother Jeong-sun, who has raised him alone, begins revisiting long-suppressed memories of her childhood in Jeju, working with a newly arrived doctor to recover fragments of a past she has tried to forget. As their present lives begin to intersect with buried history, a hidden promise from decades earlier slowly resurfaces, linking personal identity to a painful chapter that has never fully been laid to rest.
