Blu-ray release: ‘New Female Prisoner Scorpion: Cellblock X’

Discotek Media will release the 1977 Japanese exploitation thriller ‘New Female Prisoner Scorpion: Cellblock X’ (新女囚さそり 特殊房X) on Blu-ray in the US on November 24, 2026.
Directed by Yutaka Kohira, the film follows a nurse who is imprisoned after her boyfriend is murdered for uncovering a political conspiracy. The cast includes Yoko Natsuki, Takeo Chii, Kaori Ono, Masashi Ishibashi, Junkichi Orimoto, and Hiroshi Tachi.
Synopsis: Nami Matsushima is an ordinary nurse whose life is shattered when her boyfriend discovers a conspiracy involving the director of the hospital where he works. After he is murdered and his death is made to look like suicide, Nami is abducted, tortured and eventually thrown into prison. Surrounded by hostile inmates and brutal guards, she begins looking for a chance to escape and take revenge on those responsible.
