Blu-ray & DVD release: 'Behind The Shadows'

Vicol Entertainment are bringing the 2025 Hong Kong crime thriller ‘Behind The Shadows’ (私家偵探) to Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on November 20, 2025.

Directed by Jonathan Li and Chou Man-Yu, the film focuses on a private investigator who unexpectedly finds himself entangled in a murder case and is determined to track down the guilty party. The cast includes Louis Koo, Chrissie Chau, Liu Kuan-Ting, Raymond Wong Ho-Yin, Renci Yeung, and Eddie Cheung.

Synopsis: Au-Yeung Wai Yip (Louis Koo) is a down-on-his-luck private investigator who mostly handles small cases like adultery, missing persons and lost pets. One day, a travel agency owner hires Yip to investigate his girlfriend, but it turns out the girlfriend is Yip’s own wife, Kwan Wing Sum (Chrissie Chau). Yip abandons another ongoing case searching for a client’s missing fiancée in order to rush to a hotel to catch his wife in the act. However, the client’s fiancée is murdered after Yip leaves the scene. Police officer Chan Heong Meng (Liu Kuan Ting) discovers that more than one woman has been murdered using similar methods, indicating that the culprit is highly likely to be a serial killer. Yip is unwittingly pulled into the complex and dangerous mystery.
