Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘Sons of the Neon Night’

Universe Laser will release the 2025 Hong Kong crime thriller ‘Sons of the Neon Night’ (風林火山) on Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on May 8, 2026.
Written and directed by Juno Mak, the film portrays a snowy Hong Kong night of gunfire and chaos as drug lords, assassins, and police clash, until the kingpins mysteriously ban drugs. The cast includes Takeshi Kaneshiro, Lau Ching-Wan, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Louis Koo, and Gao Yuanyuan.
Synopsis: In 1994, Hong Kong is hit by a sudden series of terrorist attacks. Tycoon Li, the chairman of a pharmaceutical group and head of a drug trafficking syndicate, is killed in an explosion. Li’s youngest son Moreton (Takeshi Kaneshiro) makes moves to consolidate his position as heir, with the seemingly noble aim of ending the drug trade. Meanwhile, oldest son Maddox (Alex To) fights to continue his family’s legacy and drug empire. The city spirals into violence and chaos as the power struggle within the syndicate erupts into a brutal conflict involving underworld and police factions.
